Screenshot tools paywall the scroll. ScrollShot captures the whole page, blurs the secrets and edits the PDF, free and offline.
CleanShot wants $10 a month to make a screenshot presentable. Glossyshots blurs it, circles it and frames it on Windows for nothing.
“I got tired of paying a subscription just to make screenshots look decent, so I built a free, open-source one with Claude Code”
GoFullPage charges $12 a year before it will let you crop your own screenshot. OpenCapture does the PDF export, the redaction and the retina capture for nothing.
“Most popular screen capture extensions have shifted toward aggressive freemium models—locking multi-page PDF exports, high-DPI captures, and redaction tools behind monthly subscriptions or collecting user browsing habits.”
remove.bg capped your export resolution and then moved into Canva. RMBG cuts out backgrounds in your browser at full size, no credits.
“The only caveats for me were the export resolution limits and a privacy factor, that is, my images got uploaded to their servers.”
