“Just like Sketchup, but without subscription”
Dan Coulombe, on reddit.com ↗
SketchUp Pro bills $33.25 a month to push a rectangle into a box. KetchUp pushes, pulls and even opens your .skp files for nothing.
Superhuman charges $30 a month to make Gmail fast. Attn does it from your own laptop for nothing.
“I wanted Superhuman-like private Gmail client without the subscription, so I built one.”
Every handwriting app keeps its best pen behind a subscription. RejBoard collected all the good features into one notebook and forgot to charge for any of them.
“The problem is that the best features are usually locked behind a paywall or a subscription, and buying every app would cost far more than I was willing to spend.”
Bookmark managers charge monthly to sync your own links. Linkit adds AI summaries and syncs them for free.
“Unlike competing tools that gate cross-device sync, full-text search, or backups behind monthly subscriptions, Linkit's cloud sync is 100% free with zero paywalls.”
Built something because a company wanted your credit card for a feature that fits in a single file? That's spiteware. Submit it and join the hall of fame.
