“I wanted to listen to articles without a robotic voice or another subscription, so I built Chickadee: a free, open-source Chrome extension that runs a voice model locally.”

Every nice reading voice on the web comes with a monthly bill. Chickadee runs one in your browser and sends the bill nowhere.
GoFullPage charges $12 a year before it will let you crop your own screenshot. OpenCapture does the PDF export, the redaction and the retina capture for nothing.
“Most popular screen capture extensions have shifted toward aggressive freemium models—locking multi-page PDF exports, high-DPI captures, and redaction tools behind monthly subscriptions or collecting user browsing habits.”
Arcade charges $50 a seat a month to replay your own clicks. Stepcast records them in a Chrome extension and hands you the HTML file for nothing.
“Arcade, Supademo and Storylane do the same thing, but cost $32–50 per user per month and keep your screenshots on their servers.”
GoFullPage charges $12 a year to let you draw an arrow on your own screenshot. Fullpage Screenshot gives you the arrows, the redaction and the PDF for nothing, and nothing leaves your machine.
“I built Fullpage Screenshot because I wanted to capture a whole webpage and mark it up without paying to unlock the editor.”
Built something because a company wanted your credit card for a feature that fits in a single file? That's spiteware. Submit it and join the hall of fame.
